TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Jolly University aims to develop future industry champions who are jolly, passion-driven and values-oriented. It is a learning program where the students are encouraged to ignite their creativity in developing food concepts that will cater to the consumers, and to become a key player in our thriving food industry.

  1. ELIGIBILITY

    1. Eligible Participant must possess all of the following qualifications:
      1. resident Filipino citizen;
      2. 1 st year to 4 th year student taking up any courses in colleges, universities and vocational institutions in Metro Manila, Central Luzon and South Luzon.
      3. 16 years old and above.
    2. The following are not eligible to join:
      1. employees of Fly Ace Corporation, sponsors, suppliers and partners and relatives up to the third degree of consanguinity and affinity;
      2. professional chefs and,
      3. winners of previous Jolly University competitions.
    3. Fly Ace Corporation reserves the right to disqualify any participant if it has reasonable grounds to believe that such participant has breached or failed to comply with any of these Rules.
    4. By participating in this contest promotion, participants agree to be bound by these Rules. Fly Ace Corporation may change any of these Rules at any time.
    5. Each participant hereby warrants that all information he/she submitted are true, current and complete.
  2. TIMING

    Submission of entries will start at 12:01am on October 15, 2016 and ends at 12:00nn on December 15, 2016. Entries received prior or after the contest period will be discarded.

  3. CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION

    All Qualified Participants of Jolly University will be given Certificates of Participation

  4. HOW TO JOIN THE INDIVIDUAL CATEGORY COMPETITION

    This category has four (4) stages: registration, qualification, boot camp and finals

    1. REGISTRATION STAGE

      1. Eligible Participants may join by submitting the following:
        1. A complete application form A-1 and B, which may be secured by
          1. downloading from jolly.com.ph and Facebook page - Jolly Eats
          2. request copies from Jolly University help desks and from the school’s office.
        2. A recipe entry that complies with the Guidelines and Requirements as set forth in Sections 5.5.
      2. The accomplished registration and recipe entry forms must be submitted by emailing to jollyfoodline@gmail.com.
      3. Submission will start at 12:01am on October 15, 2016 and ends at 12:00nn on December 15, 2016
      4. Eligible Participants may submit one entry only.
    2. QUALIFICATION

      1. On a designated date on January 2017 , a panel of judges, will select thirty (30) entries based on the following criteria:
        Criterion 1. Best use of Jolly products – 40% Criterion 2. Ease of Preparation – 30% Criterion 3. Adherence to the theme and mechanics – 30%
      2. In case of a tie, the score received for Criterion 1 will be used to break the tie. If a tie still exists, the score received for Criterion 2 will be used to break the tie.
      3. The decision of the judges is final and binding.
      4. Fly Ace reserves the right to replace or disqualify any of the judges at any time without prior notice.
      5. The thirty (30) participants who submitted the selected or qualified entries will be notified via SMS, e-mail, call, or through private message coursed through the official Jolly Food Line Facebook fan page, on the week of January 30, 2017.
    3. BOOT CAMP

      1. The Boot Camp will be scheduled for three (3) consecutive Saturdays on February 2017.
      2. The thirty (30) Boot Camp Participants will undergo culinary training and workshops with graded outputs. These activities will be conducted, facilitated and rated by renowned industry mentors.
      3. A panel of judges comprising of members of the brand partners, media partners and Fly Ace Executives including Boot Camp mentors will rate the Participants’ workshop outputs based on the criteria that will be announced on the first day of the Boot Camp.
      4. 30% of the Boot Camp rating will be part of the Grand Finals score.
    4. GRAND FINALS

      1. On a designated date in March 2016, the thirty (30) Grand Finalists will prepare his/her Recipe and present his/her business concept in a live event.
      2. There will be one (1) Jolly University Individual Category Grand Champion and two (2) runners-up. The winners will be selected based on the cumulative scores of the Boot Camp and the Grand Finals, wherein 30% of the score will come from Boot Camp and 70% will come Grand Finals.
      3. Grand Finals mechanics, criteria for judging will be announced during the Boot Camp.
      4. Jolly University Individual Category Grand Champion and runners-up will receive the following:
        1. 2nd Runner-up – Php 10,000 worth of cash and prizes
        2. 1 st Runner-up – Php 15,000 worth of cash and prizes
        3. Jolly University Individual Category Grand Champion
          1. 30,000 worth of cash and prizes
          2. Features in press releases.
          3. Training and mentorship program, with signed certificates, by renowned industry influencers and Fly Ace Corporation Executives.
        4. All contest prizes in kind are not convertible to cash or can be exchanged for any item of equivalent value. Any and all costs related to the release and delivery of all prizes will be borne by the winner(s) only.
    5. RECIPE GUIDELINES AND REQUIREMENTS. Recipe entry must be:

      1. limited to the theme “Luzon Cuisines Made Easy, Healthy and Baon- Ready”
      2. with at least two (2) to three (3) Jolly Food Line products enumerated in Section 8 as part of the ingredients
      3. in US measurement units (eg cups, tablespoons, Fahrenheit)
      4. Php 800.00 or lower in cost
      5. imited to 5-step cooking procedure and preparation/cooking time must not be more than 60 minutes
      6. without any brand names other than those of Fly Ace products as enumerated in Sections 6 and 7
      7. prepared using table-top stove only
      8. an original work or an adaptation of an original recipe and must not have been published prior to competition
      9. submitted in a final format
    6. GRAND FINALS AND JUDGING

      1. On a designated date in March 2017, the thirty (30) Elimination Participants (“Contestants”) will prepare his/her qualified Recipe Entry (“Recipes”) in front of a live audience composed of the media, press, Fly Ace Executives and other guests.
      2. The venue will be announced on the week of February 6, 2017.
      3. The Contestants will compete with the other members in a live cook-off.
      4. Contestants must bring his/her own:
        1. ingredients, including Jolly Food Line products
        2. utensils, kitchenware and
        3. equipment, except for the table-top electric stove
      5. The Contestants will be given a maximum time of sixty (60) minutes to cook the dish, and a maximum time of fifteen (15) minutes to plate the dish.
      6. There will be one (1) Jolly University Individual Category Grand Champion and two (2) runners-up.
      7. A panel of judges will select the winners, based on the following criteria
        1. FLAVOR, TASTE AND PALATABILITY – 20%

          1. Appropriate seasoning and balance of flavors will be a factor in gauging the palatability of the dish.
        2. BEST USE OF JOLLY PRODUCTS AND COMPLIANCE TO THE MECHANICS – 15%

          1. Adherence to mechanics with the appropriate application of Jolly Food Line Products.
        3. SANITATION, HYGEINE AND METHOD – 10%

          1. Appropriate work, cooking methods and culinary techniques, practicability for daily professional application, proper handling of ingredients and tools and proper management of the work space.
        4. FINAL PRODUCT PRESENTATION /PLATING – 10%

          1. Overall appearance and presentation of final dish/product.
        5. AUDIENCE APPEAL – 15%

          1. riginal Design, Overall eye appeal, uniqueness CREATIVITY Interpretation of theme. Use of space. Resourcefulness.
          2. To be measured through a schedule sampling of entry among the Fly Ace Executives and Brand & Media Partners.
        6. BOOT CAMP GRADE – 30%

  5. OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS

    1. By participating in the Jolly University Year 4, the participants agree that any of their data, including names, surnames, photos and video images can be used and published by Fly Ace Corporation for advertising purposes and promotional activities without need of additional consent from them or any consideration. Refusal of the winner to allow the use and publication of his/her name, and image for such purpose will result in the forfeiture of his/her prize.
    2. By submitting the recipes, the participants hereby agree that their individual recipes become the sole property of Fly Ace Corporation, and Fly Ace Corporation reserves the right to edit, adapt, copyright, publish, transfer and use any or all of them, without any need of prior approval from the participants and free from any costs.
    3. All recipe and cooking demonstration entries will be screened before being uploaded for public viewing on Jolly Eats Facebook page
    4. In the event of a dispute regarding these Rules, conduct, results and all other matters relating to the Jolly University Year 4, the decision of the judges chosen by Fly Ace Corporation shall be final and non-appealable, and no correspondence or discussion will be entertained.
    5. If a participant breaches any of these Rules, Fly Ace Corporation will not be responsible for any loss that the participant or a third party or any person suffers as a result. Participants cannot use the name of Fly Ace Corporation or publish any material used in the Jolly University Year 4 unless the same is with the written permission of Fly Ace Corporation.
    6. Fly Ace Corporation, its directors, officers and employees shall not be responsible in respect to technical or operational failure relatin g to the Jolly University Year 4, including without any limitation, for any error, omission, interruption, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communication line failure, delay in delivery or non-release of prizes
    7. Fly Ace Corporation reserves the right to temporarily or permanently suspend or cancel the Jolly University Year 4, without prior notice and without incurring any liability
    8. Fly Ace Corporation reserves the right to change the rules, mechanics, terms and conditions of the Jolly University Year 4, at any time without prior notice and without incurring any liability. In the event that any changes are made, the revised terms and conditions shall be announced or posted on the website/social media account of Jolly Eats. Please check the latest information posted to inform yourself of any changes.
    9. Fly Ace Corporation holds no responsibility or liability for any third party products or other company products, natural produce or any food item used by any participant in the Jolly University Year 4.
    10. The participants understand and agree that they participate in the Jolly University Year 3 at their own risk and willingness and have not been coerced in any manner to enter the Jolly University Year 4.
    11. The participants hereby agree to release, discharge and hold harmless Fly Ace Corporation, its directors, officers and employees and other individuals engaged in the development and execution of this Jolly University Year 4, from any and all liabilities, claims, losses or damages arising out of or in relation to their participation in the Jolly University Year 4 or their acceptance, use or misuse or possession of any prize received in the Jolly University Year 4.

      1. Eligible Participants may join by:
        1. Forming a group with three (3) members;
        2. Choosing one (1) Competition Category among the following:

          Sub-Category 1 – One (1) Main Course using Jolly Mushrooms, Jolly Corn, Jolly Other Vegetables and Jolly Cream of Mushroom Soup limited to the theme “Visayas Cuisines Made Easy, Healthy and Jolly”

          Sub-Category 2 – Two (2) Mocktails using any 2 of the juice brands of Fly Ace Corporation as enumerated in Section 4.7. limited to the theme “Capture the Jolly Vibe of the Philippines in a Sip”

          Sub-Category 3 – One (1) Pasta Challenge using Al Dente Pasta, Jolly Mushrooms, Jolly Corn, Jolly Other Vegetables and Jolly Cream of Mushroom Soup limited to the theme “Mindanao Cuisines made Pastarific!

        3. Submitting a complete registration form, which may be secured by:
          1. downloading from jolly.com.ph and Facebook page - Jolly Eats
          2. requesting copies from Jolly University help desks and from the school’s office
        4. Submitting recipe entry/entries of the chosen Category in Section 3.1.1.b and which complies with the Guidelines and Requirements as set forth in Section 3.5.

      3. Eligible Participants may submit one entry set only
    2. QUALIFICATION

    3. MENTORSHIP

      1. The Mentorship will be scheduled for three (3) consecutive Saturdays on February 2017.
      2. The thirty (30) Group Category Grand Finalists will undergo culinary training and workshops with graded outputs. These activities will be conducted, facilitated and rated by renowned industry mentors.
      3. Guidelines for the Mentorship will be announced on the week of January 30, 2017.
    4. GRAND FINALS

      1. On a designated date in March 2017, the thirty (30) Group Category Grand Finalists must prepare their recipe entries in a live cook-off. There will be ten (10) Group Category Grand Finalist to compete in each Challenge.
      2. There will be one (1) Group Category Grand Champion for each Challenge or a total of three (3) Group Category Grand Champions.
      3. Group Category Grand Finals judging and selection of winners will be based on the following criteria:
        1. TASTE and PRESENTATION – 40%
        2. CREATIVE CONCEPT – 20%
        3. TECHNICAL SKILLS /METHODS AND PREPARATION- 20%
        4. USE OF FLY ACE PRODUCTS – 20%
      4. Three (3) teams or three (3) Group Category Grand Champions will receive Php 10,000.00 worth of cash and prizes.
      5. All contest prizes in kind are not convertible to cash or can be exchanged for any item of equivalent value. Any and all costs related to the release and delivery of all prizes will be borne by the winner(s) only.
    5. RECIPE DEVELOPEMENT AND RECIPE WRITING GUIDELINES. Group Category Entry must be:
      1. limited to the chosen Category in Section 3.1.1.b
      2. written in English and must include a Recipe title, ingredient list and preparation procedures;
      3. with the required products enumerated in Section 3.1.1.b, as part of the ingredients;
      4. in US measurement units (eg cups, tablespoons, Fahrenheit)
      5. Php 1,000 or lower in cost
      6. Limited to not more than 5 –step cooking procedure and, preparation/cooking time must not be more than 60 minutes
      7. without any brand names other than those of Fly Ace Corporation’s products as enumerated in Sections 3 and 4
      8. prepared using table top stove for Main Course and Pasta Categories
      9. an original work or an adaptation of an original recipe and must not have been published prior to competition; and submitted in the final format
